Do I need an attorney to terminate parental rights in Texas?
Yes you need an attorney to terminate parental rights. NORMALLY if you dont CPS will decide youre a horrible parent for NOT doing it and will file against both of you. You saying he threatened to kill me and the child, is all the evidence you need, provided you are believable, and unless he has good controverting evidence. HOWEVER, in this case making a report three months after the fact is problematic. You should not have waited if you considered the threat credible.
