Im 14 and pregnant in Texas.?

While this is a scary moment for you, I hope you find comfort in my words. First, no one should judge you or tell you what you did is bad. Everyone, makes not so good decisions but that does not mean anyone should judge them harshly for it. I dont know where at in Texas you live, so I will keep this as short as possible. First, no one by law can kick you out of schooli.e. the school cannot tell you, you are prohibited from attending because you are pregnant, you parents or caregivers cannot remove you from school eitheryou are entitled to a free public education until completion of high school, it is the law The challenge you will face is in finding housing and employment in order to take care of yourself and an infant/child, at your age. Employers will not hire you until you are at least 16 or 17 years old, depending on the employer. Theyve got to obey child labor laws. This also means you will be unable to obtain government assistance on your owni.e. free or reduced housing, SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance ProgramsFood Stamps) or TANF. You have to be 18 years old in some cases. And despite what people may say, having a baby will not emancipate your and therefore give you access to these services and benefitsthats the law unfortunately. I did however locate a program that will house, educated and feed you, allowing for you to keep your baby as you get your education, provide all the healthcare needed for you and your baby during and after birth, will help you find work in the community to get job training skills, etcbut you have to be willing to go into the programI provided the website for you to look at the information and see if this is something you and your parents can agree on.they accept girls ages 1020 years old and you can stay in the program until you are 21 years old. I hope you have a support system around you, to keep you encouraged. I will caution you to consider all of the options that are available to youplease speak to a qualified professional about all the options open to you. Best of luck to you.
